remembering nicole yet again..

its strange. I've never been really super close to her - even when in school. except that we pulled through a major project in our uni life together. that was the span of time I spent the most time with her. we got along well. we laughed so hard our tummy hurt.

for the past week after her passing, many thoughts of her kept resurfacing in my mind. I don't know why. its just so unfair one who had such a bright future would leave us in such a way. so sudden. so unspoken. its just so unfair. Nic, i wish ur family will be strong like you were. i'm sure they will be. missin' u here.

i remembered we did take photo during the slacking time when we were building our catapult. we did. we did. but I just couldnt find it. I'm sorry.

Rest in peace dear friend. God bless you, your family and ur friend who had unfortunately passed on as well.

down..

been feeling down since this morning after I received an sms from a friend whom I have not heard for quite some time..

she mass sms-ed to inform that one of our friends from the same course had just passed away in U.S., in a car accident..

though I'm not very close to the girl who passed away, but we used to do project together once.. and that project was a long one, which we had to work together everyday from 8am-5pm for about 2 months.. it was during that time that I was quite close to her - Nicole.

well Nicole, I guess you're in a better place now. You have been great when we had our project together. thx for once being part of my life.. I just hope that your family would be strong like how you were ...

Just very sad by the fragility of life. I guess next week when I meet with my other mates to be at the wake, we all would probably not have expected that we would gather again, in such an occasion.

went to celeb. my boss' (her bday 2 days apart frm mine!) n my birthday with my colleagues today at Airport T2.. had swensen's lunch.. eat until.. we couldn't move. my colleague went out early to buy Durian cake from "Emi-Cakes" at Compass Point!!! (so far..) and brought it straight to Airport to meet us..

and got a few prezzies from some of my colleagues, as well as a number of surprises (the cake + the doraemon was a surprise..)!!~

plus the 'sunshine' gang surprised me way ahead of time, on Sunday after the SHAPE run! hehe.. they suggested to go Millenia Walk to eat brunch after the run.. i was complaining all the way why should we go there, since its such a farrrr walk, (silly me. I should have smell something fishy..) I didn't, until when I kept complaining and when they plainly IGNORED my complains, that I felt something fishy was going on. heh heh... but it was fun fun fun! they made me wore "runner bibs" that says "HUG ME" and "ITS MY BDAY" on my front n back. haiyo.. thankfully Millenia Walk was totally not crowded at all when we were there at 11am. THANK YOU SUNSHINE GANG~~

and thank you to Pet & gang as well.. for the Nike water bottle! they wanted to lunch with me today but my other colleagues 'booked' me already. oops =P ... but appreciate their thoughtfulness in remembering my bday!~ RED nike water bottle. not pink hor.

Thanks to many who sent well wishes - friends n family, thru' sms-es and calls! Most importantly, I was veryyyy thrilled when my friend from Vancouver called and wished me happy birthday! =) how thoughtful! *so touched* =P

was a little upset this morning..

am helping my friend's kid in her PSLE by just trying my best to teach her tuition for English, Maths & Science.. so took her assessment book out this morning and wanted to mark it..

and got 'nagged' by mom, saying that she's actually not in favour that I teach her... like I try so hard to get out of teaching full days on Saturdays, then I come and carry this new thing..

but the reason & motive behind me helping her, is NOT only her PSLE, but to also help her parents give her abit more attention, as she is growing up and facing changes in her life.. this girl is very smart, and its really easy to teach her, since her parents are quite strict with her too.

but ultimately, its the company and attention I want to give to her, letting her know that if she ever face any trouble or need a listening ear, she has me to call ...

so I was really quite upset when mom said all those.. I didnt 'fight back' or argue with her, i just kept quiet.. and I guess she would know how I felt when I just kept quiet.

but oh well.. guess mom's happy that I didn't go out today, at least I spent time resting @ home (which was GREAT!), and we went nearby our place to have dinner.
(hehe, I had a nap from 3:30pm to 6:45pm. haha! its really.. shiok) It has been longgg since I've done such afternoon naps. =P

the lousy experience @ Fish & Co., Paragon

was having dinner at Fish & Co., Paragon yesterday, and ordered a side dish of Fried Calamari..

but what I got was fried calamari, and fried lumps of flour too! yuck, it looks horrid, tastes bad too.. (of cos I only took a bite & dumped it...)

Hey! I chanced upon this T-shirt when I was @ Sportslink yesterday...
and sooo luckily - it was the last brand new piece! hehe.. I liked it so much I bought it almost rightaway!

though it was meant for "boys", but I didn't care as long as I could wear it. hehe =P

hehe.. yesterday something funny happened.

mom and I were out to take the chartered bus to church @ MRT station, and after we left the house, I realised I forgot my hp. So she continued the walk while I ran home to get my hp.

once I was out, I was running all the way to catch up with mom. I don't know its the speed of my running (I don't think I ran very fast) or my green polo t-shirt that caught the attention of taxi drivers..

TWO cab drivers slowed down & stopped at the nearest bus stop and waited for me! *hahah*... in their minds, they probably are thinking that I'll be in desperate need of a cab. the truth is I was only chasing after my mother. *haha*

once I caught up with mom, and stopped running, both cabs drove away. *vroom* hehe...

tribute to hamboy - 20th May 2008

hamboy - he died last night. not sure exactly 'when' he was gone, but I discovered him at 10:15pm.

he was still ok and running around yesterday and I even fed him some vegetables.

quite sudden, really.. but I somehow knew that this day would come soon, since he has already been with me for slightly more than 2 years.

did notice his recent "slowing" down, and some stupid ants crawling in his cage. I didnt think much of the ants - since there were just 1-2, and I squashed them.

I buried him just at the tree beside my block. He will always be remembered.

thank you hamboy - for all the joy you have brought to me.. the times where I brought you out to piano lesson, for a movie, etc.. sorry for the times when I went overseas and you were at home alone, for the times I didn't make enough time for you, or didn't clean your cage often enough...

know you're in a better place now, love you lots hamboy.. you're the best hamster I ever had.. you're in the hearts of many..

I loved it when I was at The Peak in Hong Kong, went there about 6+pm, and was able to catch the sunset..

And thereafter, focused the camera on a specific angle that I thought is one of the best, and snapped how the skyline changed as the sun set, and night falls.

Really nice to see the transformation.

finally, after a long wait of 6 months (actually not that long also..) i got to eat my favourite HK dessert - 许留山!!

I ate this - called mango love... wah.. simply FABULOUS! and I ate it everyday! hehe.

really miss it now, since I'm back. the food there is really.. *yummy*.

sigh, i broke one of my violin's string last night. *oops*.. was trying to tune it (thought i was holding a guitar, can tune what... easy, just use the same concept of turning the pegs!)

but i was totally wrong lah. i only turned a little (maybe i did it a little too hard, the string was already quite taut) and it went *piak!* i was stunned for awhile. oops =(


sad. cannot play around with my violin now =(

my new toy!

hey i got my new toy yesterday!

been long awaited, anticipated, looked-fwd, almost never got down to getting it but yes! I just went ahead and got it yesterday!

heheh, even though is 2nd hand, its still in quite good condition! I just went to change the strings and the pegs last night...

Pegs: the "screw-like" thing that holds the tension of the string at the top of the violin!

was sooo excited last night, i tried to play a little. (oops, it did sound a little horrid, still don't know the correct & good technique to bow... but I'll learn.. I'll learn, soon.)

and I took some pictures of hamboy yesterday too! hee.. he's so cute. I fed him with long beans and he loved it! snatched it frm my hand, and started eating rightaway!
